Return Shipping Costs Explained

When returning a rug, the cost of return shipping depends on several factors including the size of the rug, the vendor, and the reason for the return. Here's a full breakdown of what to expect.

Customer-paid return shipping

For standard returns (change of mind, wrong size ordered, etc.), return shipping is the customer's responsibility. The cost will vary based on the size and weight of the rug and the carrier used.

• You will be provided with a return shipping label or instructions when your return is approved.
• The cost of the return label will be deducted from your refund, or you may be asked to arrange and pay for shipping directly.
• We recommend keeping your original packaging to use for the return shipment.

Vendor restocking fees

Some of our vendor partners charge a restocking fee on returned items. This fee is deducted from your refund and varies by vendor. If a restocking fee applies to your return, our Customer Care team will inform you before the return is processed.

Oversized rug returns

Rugs that originally shipped via freight (ABF Freight) will also need to be returned via freight. Oversized return shipping costs are significantly higher than standard parcel returns due to the size and weight of the item.

• A freight pickup will need to be scheduled.
• Return freight costs will be communicated to you before the return is confirmed.
• Do not discard the original packaging — it is required for freight returns.

Freight pickup fees

If your rug requires a freight pickup from your location, a pickup fee may apply. This fee covers the cost of scheduling ABF Freight to collect the item from your address and is separate from the return shipping cost.

When return shipping is covered by Rugs Direct

If your rug arrived damaged, defective, or is not the item you ordered, Rugs Direct will cover the cost of the return shipping. In these cases:

• Contact our Customer Care team with your order number and photos of the issue.
• We will arrange the return at no cost to you and process a replacement or full refund.
