Some larger rugs are shipped via freight carrier (ABF Freight) rather than standard parcel carriers like FedEx. If your order is being delivered by freight, the delivery process is different from a standard shipment. Here's what to expect.
Which orders ship via freight?
Oversized rugs — typically those that are very large or heavy — are shipped via ABF Freight. You will be notified if your order is shipping by freight, and tracking information will reflect the ABF Freight carrier.
Curbside delivery
Freight deliveries are curbside only. This means the driver will bring your rug to the curb or the end of your driveway — they are not able to bring it inside your home, up stairs, or into a specific room. Please make sure you have help available to move the rug from the curb to your desired location.
Appointment scheduling
ABF Freight will contact you directly — by phone or email — to schedule a delivery appointment. You must be available at the scheduled time to receive the delivery.
- Make sure the phone number and email address on your order are correct.
- Check your spam folder if you are expecting a scheduling email and have not received one.
- If you have not heard from ABF Freight within a few days of receiving your shipping notification, contact our Customer Care team and we will follow up on your behalf.
Missed appointments
If you miss your scheduled delivery appointment:
- ABF Freight will typically attempt to reschedule.
- Additional fees may apply for re-delivery or storage if the appointment is missed or rescheduled multiple times.
- Contact ABF Freight directly or reach out to our Customer Care team as soon as possible to reschedule and avoid additional charges.
Inspecting your delivery
When your rug arrives, inspect the packaging before signing for the delivery.
- If you notice any damage to the packaging, note it on the delivery receipt before signing.
- If the rug itself appears damaged, take photos immediately and contact our Customer Care team with your order number and photos.
- Do not refuse the delivery unless the damage is severe — accepting the delivery with noted damage gives us the best opportunity to file a claim on your behalf.
Tips for a smooth freight delivery
- Confirm your contact information is correct on your order.
- Respond promptly to scheduling calls or emails from ABF Freight.
- Have help available on delivery day — oversized rugs can be heavy.
- Clear a path from your entrance to where you plan to place the rug before delivery day.
If you have questions about your freight shipment, contact our Customer Care team with your order number and we will assist you.
